Overview
Ótimo+App is the official mobile app for public bus users in the Belo Horizonte metropolitan area and its 34 municipalities. It offers route planning, real-time bus arrival forecasts, and maps showing the nearest bus stops. Lines and schedules are clearly displayed, and favorites can be saved for convenience. Users can recharge their ÓTIMO transit cards directly from the app using credit cards or PIX, with instant balance updates. The interface was redesigned in 2025 to improve usability and integrate ticketing, navigation and support in one platform. It also supports complaints, feedback, and locating sales outlets.

GREAT CITIZEN IDENTIFIED
For individuals, liberal professionals, students and domestic workers. In case of loss, theft or misplacement, credits CAN be recovered in a 2nd copy of the card. It facilitates the payment of the fare in metropolitan public transport.

Questions about the Citizen Card
1. I topped up my card through the ÓTIMO app. How long does it take for my ÓTIMO Identified Citizen card to be verified?
Once the payment is confirmed by the responsible bank, the top-up amount will be credited to your account within one hour. Use your card to top up on the bus.
2. I topped up my card through the ÓTIMO app, but when I check my balance, I don't see the requested top-up amount. What could have happened?
Top-ups requested through the app will only be added to your card balance after you use it on the bus. To ensure the top-up amount has been credited to your card after payment, access the "History" tab in the app. The top-up amount will appear there, and your balance will be added to the top-up amount when you use the card on the bus.
3. How do I top up online?
You can top up online through the ÓTIMO app using Pix or a credit card, or through the ÓTIMO website using a bank slip. The amount reloaded through the app will be credited to your account within one hour of payment confirmation by the receiving bank. Since the payment order is generated online, it will be credited to your account within 24 business hours of payment confirmation by the receiving bank.
4. What is the difference between the ÓTIMO Unidentified Citizen Card and the Verified Citizen Card?
The ÓTIMO Unidentified Citizen Card can be purchased at ÓTIMO points of sale for R$5.00. This card cannot be reloaded online through the ÓTIMO app or the ÓTIMO website, nor can it be blocked or duplicated if lost, stolen, or damaged. You can purchase the Verified Citizen Card free of charge at authorized ÓTIMO points of sale. If your card is lost, stolen, or damaged, you can request a block and replacement through the ÓTIMO top-up portal to restore the remaining valid balance. With this Verified Citizen Card, you can top up online through the ÓTIMO app and the ÓTIMO website.
5. I have a Verified Citizen Card. How do I identify my card with the Private Pension Fund (CPF)?
If you purchased the UNIDENTIFIED Citizen card, to register it with your CPF and make it IDENTIFIED, you must download ÓTIMOAPP. Access the app and under MORE > ONLINE RECHARGE, enter the UNIDENTIFIED card number and your CPF. The ÓTIMO Identified Citizen Card Membership Agreement will then be displayed, requiring your acceptance before you can register. That's it, your card is now an ÓTIMO Identified Citizen, and you can enjoy its benefits with greater security!
6. Before the new ticketing system went into effect on November 16, 2024, I registered several cards with the Private Pension Fund (CPF). With the new system, only one card per CPF account will be allowed. What should I do?
If you have more than one card registered to your CPF, you should go to the ÓTIMO store in the Floresta neighborhood and request regularization of the registration of these cards. You will receive further information upon arrival.
7. How do I access the ÓTIMO recharge portal for the first time?
To access the ÓTIMO recharge portal for the first time, go to otimoonline.com.br. Click on CUSTOMER AREA > INDIVIDUAL > NEW > enter your CPF and FILL OUT THE REGISTRATION FORM. After completing your registration, you will receive TWO emails: one to unlock access and the other with a temporary password to the email address registered on the ÓTIMO recharge portal. With your temporary password, return to the login area and log in for the first time to reset your password. Now, you can recharge on the portal.
8. How do I block my ÓTIMO Identified Citizen card and request a replacement?
To block your lost, stolen, or damaged card and request a replacement with a valid balance transfer, access the ÓTIMO recharge portal at otimoonline.com.br and click on REQUESTS > REGULAR RECHARGE. Select the card and then click on 2ND COPY. After requesting the block, the previous card is blocked, and the replacement will be ready for collection within 2 business days after the bank confirms payment of the bill. You will collect the replacement card at the ÓTIMO store in the Floresta neighborhood upon presentation of your ID.
9. Can I transfer my card balance to a new card I purchased?
No, it's not possible. The balance of the ÓTIMO card is only transferred to a duplicate card if the customer blocks the card due to loss, damage, or theft.
10. How can I view the usage report for my ÓTIMO Identified Citizen card?
To access your card's usage report, visit otimoonline.com.br. Click on CUSTOMER AREA > INDIVIDUAL > REPORTS > STATEMENT, which will issue a usage report for the last 30 days.
11. How do I request a top-up for my ÓTIMO Identified Citizen card?
You have two options for requesting top-ups online: through the ÓTIMO top-up portal or through ÓTIMOAPP. - Recharge Portal: Access otimoonline.com.br in the CUSTOMER AREA > INDIVIDUAL and log in. Go to ORDERS > RECHARGE > MY CARDS > RECHARGE. Enter the amount to recharge and pay the bill. Within 24 business hours of payment confirmation by the receiving bank, your recharge will be released to your card on the bus.
- ÓTIMOAPP: Download ÓTIMOAPP for free and access it under MORE > ONLINE RECHARGE. Enter your card number and CPF. You can choose to recharge using your credit card or Pix. After payment confirmation by the receiving bank, your recharge will be released to your card on the bus within 1 hour.
12. Where can I schedule a recharge?
The free service points are: Belo Horizonte Bus Station, São Gabriel Terminal, Vilarinho Terminal, and Contagem Shopping Mall. When you schedule your appointment with Sol, your virtual assistant at ÓTIMO, she will send you the address of the location of your choice.

GREAT is the electronic ticketing of public transport by bus in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte. It consists of the form of payment for tickets through electronic credits that are inserted into a card.
