Just doing romance for now, sort of on that kick for a while I think. Let's start with what I don't like:

A love triangle that goes on too long/lasts forever

The ML or FL cheating on their partners (this just makes me hate them and therefore root for bad things to happen to them), slight exception being if the partner/spouse is just exceptionally awful in some way

Sad endings (but the show can be overall sad as long as the ending is good)

Really dumb misunderstandings used to generate artificial drama

What I do like:

Slow burn stuff (but where you actually see a bit of their relationship after they get together ideally)

Settings outside the city

Happy or mostly happy endings

Seeing their relationship develop after they first get together
