KakaoMap - Map / Navigation

Certain roads are impossible to travel on. They need to be reviewed regularly, just like in rural areas. Please update the maps if possible.

KakaoMap is worse than Google Maps, even if Google Maps is not working properly in South Korea. KakaoMap has no English option and the app's navigation is really bad.

During my trip to Korea, I tried out this app for the first time to navigate the subways and buses. It was super convenient because it alerted me when to get off and started reminding me a station ahead of my stop. Thanks to this app, using the buses in Korea was a breeze!

Someone said I could use the app without giving access to my camera, microphone, and storage. But when I tried to use it, the app wouldn't work unless I gave permission. So frustrating, I had to uninstall it.

The map has improved a lot over time and now it's likely the top choice for navigating in Korea. Simply tap on any location to easily find directions and detailed information about stores and transportation options. It has been quite useful.

There's this amazing navigation app I used when I was in Seoul for a week. It really saved me because it helped me navigate the subways, locate museums and national monuments, and discover new places around me. If you can't read Hangul, you might want to consider using another app that translates into English. But if you can read Hangul and want to test your skills, then this is the perfect app for you! ^__^

You can use public transit and get help with routes and navigation. You won't see the approximate fuel cost or toll avoidance options. Can't search businesses by category. The categories may not be as accurate as Google Maps, and the search results may not be as good as Naver. You can leave reviews. But the Secure Folder feature is not compatible, and access to your contacts is needed.

If Google worked, I wouldn't use it. Thanks to Korean protectionism for supporting this app - way better than Naver!
