JW Language is an official app created by Jehovah's Witnesses to aid language learners in enhancing their communication skills for ministry work and congregation meetings. The app offers phrases, images, and activities for language acquisition.
Language Selection
Once the app is installed, users can select their primary language and the language they are studying from a range of options such as Arabic, Bengali, Chinese Cantonese (Traditional), Chinese Mandarin (Simplified), Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Kurdish Kurmanji, Low German, Malay, Myanmar, Nahuatl (Central), Persian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Tagalog, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese.

What’s New in Version 2.5
Grammar feature: Observe how different words change a sentence to help you understand the grammar and sentence structure of the language you’re learning. Change words in a sentence from singular to plural, future to past tense, and more.

Audio in the Grammar feature uses the text-to-speech feature of your device, so the languages and audio can be configured in your device settings.

FAQ
1. Will the app run on my device?
JW Language is compatible with the following Android devices:
Android tablets and phones running version 5.0 or later
Kindle Fire
Support for the following devices is not planned:
Android tablets and phones running version 4.4 or earlier
2. Can I download content using my cellular data?
You can download content in JW Language using either Wi-Fi or cellular data. In the main menu, tap Settings. Then, select your preferred option from the dropdown menu next to Download over cellular.
3. How can I slow down the audio speed?
The ability to adjust audio speed is only available on devices running Android 6.0 or later. Tap Settings in the main menu, then use the dropdown menu next to Global Playback Speed to switch between three audio speeds. While using an activity, use the audio speed icon to change the audio speed within the activity.
4. Can I store data from JW Language on my SD card?
No. To reduce the space taken by JW Language on your device:
Download only specific publications instead of downloading all publications for offline use
Download lower resolution videos
5. How can I configure the audio in the Grammar feature?
Audio in the Grammar feature uses the text-to-speech (TTS) feature of your device. You may need to install a different TTS app to hear higher quality audio in the language you’re learning. The playback speed for Grammar audio can be adjusted in the JW Language app settings.
6. Why are some things not working for me?
Certain features, such as audio speed options, are only available on Android 6.0 or later.
7. How do I choose a primary language?
Your primary language is the language you already know. During the setup process, tap Primary Language to choose your primary language.
8. How do I change my primary language?
Tap Settings in the main menu, then change your primary language under the Primary Language menu option.
