IS Supersää - Dual weather forecasts & favorites

Supersää presents two different weather forecasts side by side, originating from the Finnish Meteorological Institute and Foreca. You can choose which one you trust or perhaps find that the truth lies somewhere in between.

The updated Supersää allows users to save their favorite locations, enabling them to view the weather for all their selected spots on a single page. The app features an expanded rain map and provides alerts specific to your area and your favorites. Additionally, dark mode is supported, and the application can be used in English, Finnish, or Swedish.

HOURLY FORECAST

Utilize the hourly forecast to check the temperature and wind conditions for the next 24 hours. The current forecast also includes a “feels like temperature” that considers the effect of the wind on actual temperatures.

9-DAY FORECAST

The 9-day forecast outlines both the minimum and maximum temperatures, type of weather, wind velocity, chances of precipitation, and expected rainfall for each day.

DARK MODE

Should dark mode be activated in your device’s settings, Supersää will automatically utilize this feature.

FAVOURITES

You have the option to add locations such as your grandmother’s home, office, or vacation spots for quick access to weather forecasts for these favored places.

WEATHER WARNINGS

The application displays various weather warnings, including alerts for storms and forest fires, pertinent to your location or the favorites you have set.

RAIN MAPS

View both rain observations and forecasts for Finland on the interactive map. You can zoom in on the rain map and shift the timeline to see forecasts for your desired time.

WEATHER WIDGET

Add weather widgets to your home screen to receive the latest weather updates directly at a glance.

POLLEN FORECAST

The app provides a pollen forecast for various locations throughout Finland.

FEATURES THAT THE APP USES

● Location

For the most precise weather updates and local alerts, positioning helps you track your spot on the rain map. Location services can be enabled in the settings if desired. Allowing access to your location means IS Supersää and other Sanoma services may tailor content and advertisements based on your device's location and previous visits.

If you place a weather widget on your main screen and want it to display the forecast for your current location, permission must be granted for the app to access your location even when not actively in use. When the app is closed, location data is only utilized to refresh the weather information displayed in the widget.

IS Super Weather shows various weather warnings, such as high storm winds and forest fire warnings, for your location, as well as for places you set as favorites.

Dark and light color theme

Choose your favorite color theme from dark or light options

The light color theme provides particularly high contrast in weather information, while the dark mode is easy on the eyes when viewing the weather forecast, for example, at dusk.
