Q I can't pay with PayPay.

A Please make sure that your PayPay balance is 2,000 yen or more. When using PayPay, you will need a PayPay balance of 2,000 yen as a credit limit to confirm validity.

Q Even though the reservation is still open, the 2,000 yen payment has been accepted.

A In order to verify the validity of your PayPay card, a credit limit of 2,000 yen will be temporarily set to "payment accepted" status when your reservation is completed. However, please rest assured that you will only pay the final price after you return the vehicle.

Q I got an error when I tried to add a payment method.

A When you register a payment method, we check the validity of the payment method.

If you are unable to register, it may be because your available balance is insufficient to meet the validation check amount (1 yen/unit for credit cards, 2,000 yen/unit for PayPay, SoftBank Collective Payment, au Easy Payment, and Yahoo! Wallet), or the expiration date has expired.

Q I have an outstanding balance in my past usage history. What should I do?

A You can make a payment by pressing the "Repay" button for the relevant order from the "Reservation/Usage History" menu.

Q What if I want to change my payment method?

A You can change your payment method by going to Menu > Account Information (tap on the member ID at the top) and selecting "Register/Change Payment Method."

Please note that we will check the validity of your payment every time you change your payment method.

Q There is an amount other than the vehicle usage fee on the statement of the payment method I am using. What is this?

A If you use a credit card, we will give you a credit of 1 yen per vehicle to confirm the validity of your payment method.

Since this is merely a confirmation of validity, no actual withdrawal will be made and the payment will be refunded immediately. Depending on the card company, the amount may be written as (provisional) on the statement, but no withdrawal will be made.

*If you use SoftBank One-Stop Payment, au Easy Payment, or Yahoo! Wallet, the payment validity confirmation will be 2,000 yen per vehicle.

*If you use PayPay, instead of confirming the validity of the payment, we will provisionally hold 2,000 yen in advance as a deposit and will withdraw the final amount after the vehicle usage ends.

A This is a card that is sold in some areas and can be purchased with cash. Depending on the area, one of the following two types of cards are sold.

I downloaded the app on my phone. It’s a Dutch phone. The app just stays on the opening screen. Super frustrating. It feels like it’s completely useless now.

The rental cycle app offers great convenience at an affordable price. The network of cycles covers a wide area, making it easy to find and rent a bike almost anywhere. Perfect for exploring the city or commuting around!

I gave it four stars, but here's the deal. You can't just park the bike anywhere. It has to go back to specific drop-off spots. If those locations are full, you're stuck wasting time looking for another place. I walked as much as I rode just to return the bike. That's frustrating. I think it would be better if you could drop the bike off anywhere and pay a little extra for that flexibility. Also, when you rent with a friend, they have to drop it off at a different location. That makes it even more time-consuming. So in my book, it's really a three-star experience.

There's this Japanese application that really caters only to locals. It won't send authentication codes to anyone outside Japan. If you're not using a Japanese phone number, you're out of luck. Frustrating, right?

Things were running smoothly for a while. Then out of nowhere, debit cards stopped working. I had to switch gears and register for PayPay. With PayPay, I can only make balance payments, not card payments. This means regular trips to Lawson to top up the balance. Another hassle popped up with new bicycles that have black locks. These can only be unlocked using the app now. Before, I could share access with my relatives without any trouble. Now I have to be close to the bike to unlock it. Using a pin code was so much simpler.

Using the service feels seamless and enjoyable. Reporting issues with a bike could be much better though. A simple selection of buttons would make life easier after a ride, like options for "flat tire" or "saddle loose." There are quite a few bikes in disrepair. The emails also become a hassle. Receiving two emails for each rental gets overwhelming. An app should handle all that communication. Notifications in-app would streamline everything.
