Frontier Airlines' strategy involves several key shifts:

Targeting "High Fare" Markets: Frontier is focusing its growth on markets with higher fares, such as Seattle Tacoma International, Detroit Metropolitan, and Indianapolis International, while reducing its presence in leisure markets like Las Vegas and Orlando. They aim to reduce capacity in Las Vegas and Orlando by 33% during the summer season.

Attracting Premium Travelers: The airline is trying to attract higher-paying clientele by adding more seats with extra legroom and introducing business fares. By guaranteeing open middle seats in the two front rows of all its aircraft, Frontier has added a business-class product.

New Fare Structure: Frontier is embracing changes to its product offerings, including by introducing “transparent pricing” and eliminating most change and cancellation fees. Frontier now provides four distinct options – basic, economy, premium and business – each clearly presented at the start of the booking process.

Boosting Revenue: These strategies are projected to generate approximately $250 million in revenue by 2026 and exceed $500 million by 2028.

Fuel Efficiency and Sustainability: Frontier emphasizes environmental responsibility and aims to be "America's Greenest Airline". They are 44% more fuel efficient than other major U.S. airlines. The airline conserves fuel by operating the youngest fleet and the largest A320neo family fleet in the U.S.

Ultra-Low-Cost Carrier Model: Frontier operates on an ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) business model that prioritizes cost savings and flexibility for passengers. The airline generates revenue through ticket sales and ancillary fees for optional services such as baggage handling, seat assignments, and expedited boarding.

Operational Reliability and Cost Control: Frontier plans to become a more modular airline, with 90%+ of aircraft being based at a single airport, by the spring of 2024. This should greatly help with operational reliability and controlling costs.
