How to use Files by Google app to free up space on your phone

You have several options to choose how you want to clean your storage.

You have the option to choose from junk files, WhatsApp media, recorded media, unused apps, downloaded files, large files, memes and more. You will get these recommendations based on the files that you have on your device.

Now, select the item which you want to delete.

For example, we clicked on ‘Confirm and free up 0.93 GB’ which clears the junk files.

Then, click on ‘Clear’ and then click on ‘Delete’. This is same for all options.

You will be able to view the status of the files being deleted.

If you wish to delete unused apps, you will have to give the app usage access.

Click on ‘Continue’ and then again click on ‘Continue’.

Now, find ‘Files’ in the list and provide it with usage access.

Now, look for ‘Your unused apps’ and click on ‘Select and free up’.

Now, select the apps that you want to remove.

Click on ‘Ok’ to remove the app.
