FAQ
Can I Add My Own Bottles To Distiller?
You can! If we're missing something that you have in your collection, you can create a new bottle. To get started, make sure you have the most up to date version of the iOS or Android app.
Make sure you're logged in, then head to the Search page. Once you've searched for a bottle you'll see text below the quick search results that says 'Are we missing something?' - Beneath that you'll see an orange button that says 'Add a new spirit'. Tap that button and begin the process of creating a new bottle.
Make sure to read the rules around creating a bottle before you get started.

How To Delete Your Account
Go to Distiller.com and sign in to your account.
Click 'My Profile' on the top right of the page.

Beneath the 'Save Changes' button you'll see 'Change Password', 'Update Newsletter and Mailing Preferences' and 'Delete Account'. Click 'Delete Account'.
On the confirmation page we'll ask you to let us know why you're deleting your account.
To completely delete your account click the 'Delete My Account' button. Reminder: This is permanent. Deleted accounts cannot be retrieved.
Once your account has been successfully deleted your data will be completely removed from the Distiller system. Again, this action is non-reversible. Once you delete your account Distiller cannot retrieve it.
Sorting and Filtering
Within Search, User Reviews as well as your Lists, you're able to sort and filter the spirits listed.
The app and the website do this differently.
Sorting & Filtering on Distiller.com
Sorting & Filtering Search Results
To sort the results of a Search, click the "Sort By" drop down that appears beneath the Search Icon. From here you are able to Sort your results by Distiller Score, Popularity, User Rating, and Alphabetical.
Distiller Score: The score assigned to a spirit by one of Distiller's Tasting Table experts
Popularity: The total number of user ratings. The top result will be the one with the most user ratings.
User Rating: The average user rating out of all user ratings on a spirit.
Alphabetical: Sorted A to Z.
To filter the results of a Search, click the "Filtering By" drop down to the left of the "Sort By" drop down. A pop-up will display, where you have the option to filter your search results by:

Country: The country of origin that you're looking for. Example: Barbados.
Price: The price bracket for a particular spirit. Example: $150+

You are not currently able to filter or sort your lists on Distiller.com. You can, however, do this using the free Distiller app for iOS or Android.
Sorting & Filtering User Reviews
On any spirit page you will find a list of Reviews (or user reviews) posted by other Distiller users. New bottles may have very few or no Reviews, while older bottles may have thousands. On the page of Reviews you'll see a Sort drop down and a Filter drop down at the top of the page.
The default setting is filtered by All Reviews and Sorted by Newest.

What Is The Tasting Table?
Every spirit that is reviewed within the Distiller system is assigned to a member of the Tasting Table. These are spirits industry professionals from all over the world with highly refined palates and intimate knowledge of the spirits they cover. We interview and vet each Tasting Table member extensively to establish the refinement of their palate as well as how deep their knowledge of spirits is.
Each Tasting Table member is assigned to one or more spirit categories, depending on their level of knowledge on the subject. For instance, one reviewer may be an expert in the field of Gins, but does not have as much knowledge regarding Rum and other sugarcane spirits. So that reviewer will only review Gins for Distiller.
Furthermore, members of the Tasting Table are prohibited from working for a brand in the category that they review to prevent any possible conflicts of interest.
Lastly, members of the Tasting Table are explicitly prohibited from accepting any payment or other incentives from brands to positively influence the scores they give to a spirit when reviewing.
Can Brands Pay To Get Their Scores Higher?
Absolutely not. Every review you see in Distiller is completely objective and uninfluenced by the brands themselves. While we may work with brands to provide samples, marketing, tasting events, and other fun perks for Distiller users, they will never be able to influence the reviews themselves.
You can head over to our Brand Values page to learn more.
