How can I log in using the DigiD app?
You can log in to the DigiD app in two different ways:
1.You can log in on your mobile phone or tablet by simply entering a pin code.
2.Alternatively, you can log in on a computer through the app by capturing a verification code, scanning a QR code, and then inputting your pin code.
DATA PROCESSING & PRIVACY
The DigiD app collects certain data including the IP address, operating system name and version of your device, the unique identifier of the mobile device, your mobile number, and the 5-digit PIN code you create. For identity verification, additional details like document number or driver's license number, date of birth, and validity period are also processed.
By downloading and utilizing the DigiD app, you consent to this data processing under the established provisions.
1.Your personal information will be handled in compliance with relevant privacy laws. The privacy statement outlines who is accountable for managing personal data within DigiD, which types of user data are collected, and their purpose. The rules governing the handling, security, and reliability of DigiD are defined in legislation. Further details can be found in the privacy documentation.
2.Appropriate technical and organizational measures have been implemented to protect against the loss or unlawful processing of users' personal information.
3.The DigiD app adheres to security standards that align with those of DigiD itself, utilizing the security features available within the operating system.
4.Users bear the responsibility for ensuring the security of their mobile devices.
5.Occasionally, updates for the DigiD app may be automatically downloaded and installed from the app store. These updates are designed to enhance, expand, or upgrade the functionality of the app, addressing any bugs, adding advanced features, or introducing new versions. Without these updates, the app may not operate effectively.
6.The provider reserves the right to (temporarily) withdraw the DigiD app from the app store or suspend its operation without prior notice.

Digisterker
Would you like to learn how to apply for a DigiD or how to use the DigiD app? Many libraries offer a Digisterker course to learn how to deal with government websites and DigiD. This course is for anyone with some internet experience. Even if you are not a member of the library.
The course usually consists of 4 sessions of 2 hours and is taught by specially trained teachers. In the course you will learn how to request, activate and use a DigiD (app).
Authorisation
Do you need help to arrange matters with the government online, such as your tax return or rent surcharge. You can give someone else permission to do so, by means of DigiD Authorisation.
Please note! Never give your DigiD login credentials to someone else, but use DigiD Authorisation.
Who can you authorise?
People, such as a family member or a social worker.
Companies, such as your tax advisor.
You give someone permission (authorisation) for a specific task, for example a tax return, and for a fixed period, for example a year. The person you authorise will then only have access to this specific data only for that period.
It is possible to authorise several people.
How does it work?

If you would like someone else to take care of your affairs, you can request an authorisation code for this person.

Have you received an authorisation code? Then contact the person who is going to help you. Give that person the following details:

No DigiD
You have no DigiD? You can also apply for authorisation without DigiD by telephone via the DigiD helpdesk. You will then receive the authorisation code at the address registered in the Dutch Personal Records Database.
