What is dermanostic?

dermanostic is a telemedicine service that allows you to send your skin problem to a dermatologist online, especially via an app. You can use the service anytime (including weekends) and anywhere (even outside Germany). Private prescriptions are valid throughout the EU.

How does contact with a dermatologist work via the dermanostic app?

Download the dermanostic app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and register. You can then securely send photos, the completed questionnaire, further information about your skin problem, and your patient data to the dermatologists via the app and make the payment. Your case will then be reviewed by one of our dermatologists, and you will receive a doctor's letter with the diagnosis and treatment recommendation.

How long does it take to receive a diagnosis and treatment recommendation?

All inquiries are answered within a maximum of 24 hours. You will usually receive a response within a few hours. As soon as the dermatologist asks you a follow-up question or requests new images, the 24-hour period will be counted again from the beginning. You will be informed of this via email and push notification.

What exactly is the diagnosis and treatment recommendation?

You will receive a detailed doctor's letter about your skin condition. This means that the condition and treatment recommendation are described precisely and understandably. This way, you know what condition has been diagnosed and how it should be treated. This document also facilitates future communication with your family doctor. We also provide you with our skin lexicon free of charge. Here you can find more detailed information about the diagnosis if needed. Will I receive a private prescription?

If our dermatologists recommend a prescription medication in the form of a cream or tablets, we will provide you with the appropriate private prescription. We can send the private prescription either by mail to your home, to your preferred pharmacy, or directly to an online pharmacy. When ordering through the online pharmacy, the medication is usually shipped to you on the same business day – the invoice is included in the package. Private prescriptions are valid throughout the EU – outside Germany, the medication is shipped directly to your home.

Can I contact dermanostic again with the same case if there is no improvement?

In each doctor's letter, you will receive information about how long the treatment should be continued and how long you can expect to see improvement. If you have any questions in the meantime or if your complaints and symptoms worsen, you are welcome to contact our medical team using the contact options, e.g., via our app. These follow-up questions are, of course, included in the treatment price.

Is my phone's camera sufficient for the doctor to make a diagnosis?

Almost all cameras on modern smartphones are suitable for dermanostic. At least three photos from different distances and angles are required. If the photo quality is not sufficient for the doctor, we will inform you that new photos are needed. This ensures that the diagnosis is always based on good photo quality.

Can I submit photos of someone else?

You can submit photos of your children as a legal guardian. If you want to upload photos of a third adult, you need their consent. This way, for example, you can get a dermatological diagnosis for your grandparents even if they don't have a smartphone themselves.
