Wnn Keyboard Lab is a beta version of iWnn IME (Japanese keyboard), which is commonly pre-installed on many Android devices in Japan.

It offers stable fundamental IME features along with additional plug-in modules for further customization.

* Additional information

- This free version has a limited dictionary.

For improved Japanese input suggestions, please install the additional "Wnn Japanese Ext Pack."

- Changes in storage location for additional dictionaries post Lab-256

Due to OS version restrictions, the storage location for dictionary files has been updated since the release of Lab-256 in September 2020.

To utilize the additional dictionary:

1.Create a new "wnnlab" directory under Internalstorage/android/data/jp.co.omronsoft.wnnlab/files/

2.Move all current dictionary files from /sdcard/wnnlab/ to the newly created "wnnlab" directory

If Wnn Keyboard Lab is uninstalled, dictionary files will also be removed. Be sure to back up your dictionary files beforehand.

【 Purpose of access permissions 】

[Full network access]

- Solely for ad display purposes

- No input data will be transmitted outside the app unless using external modules.

[Storage access]

- For importing text dictionaries stored locally

- To import and input images from the storage

After updating Wnn Keyboard Lab, I can no longer use the additional dictionary.

FAQ

Because access to the additional dictionary is restricted depending on the OS version, we have changed the storage location of the dictionary file from Lab-256 released in September 2020.

If you would like to continue using the additional dictionary, create a new "wnnlab" folder under internal storage/android/data/jp.co.omronsoft.wnnlab/files/ and move all existing dictionary files under /sdcard/wnnlab/.

After moving the files, the dictionary files will also be deleted if you uninstall Wnn Keyboard Lab. Please make sure to keep a copy of the dictionary files separately in advance.

Can you tell me which versions of Android™ are available?

Wnn Keyboard Lab can be used with Android™ Ver. 5.0 and later.

Can I use it on devices purchased in countries other than Japan?

Yes. You can download it from Google Play and use it.

Can I use it on devices other than Android™?

Unfortunately, no. It can only be used on Android™ devices.

The download is complete, but the keyboard image does not change.

The smartphone or tablet I purchased comes with iWnn IME installed, but can I change the keyboard image?

Unfortunately, you cannot change the keyboard image. Currently, you can only change the keyboard image using Wnn Keyboard Lab.
