Venevisión Play Receives the PRODU Technology Award in the OTT Development of the Year Category

Ely García, CTO of Cisneros Media, received the PRODU Technology 2025 Award on behalf of Venevisión in the OTT Development of the Year category for its Venevisión Play app. By the end of January 2025, Venevisión Play had accumulated 2,210,989 downloads and offers more than 12,000 hours of on-demand content.

Andrés Badra, president of Venevisión Media, announced the launch of its Venevisión Play platform, a new digital initiative that adds to its business strategy.

Cisneros Media developed the app to offer the audience on-demand content (with +10 thousand hours of programming) and exclusive programming via streaming.

“Venevisión Play is the first application of a Venezuelan media allowing simulcast transmission (simultaneous) of the channel’s HD signal. This flagship project will allow people to enjoy Venevisión on their mobile device whenever and wherever they want,” said Badra.

In just one month and during its trial period, Venevisión Play exceeded 60,000 downloads. The app has the linear programming of Venevisión, Venevisión Plus, and Novelísima; specific news and sports channels will launch soon; and Miss Venezuela will have a unique space in which special series such as Misses con Propósito. The platform can be seen in Venezuela and globally according to broadcast rights.

Venevisión Play is free to download, does not require any registration for use, and is available in all mobile application stores (Apple Store for iOS and Google Play for Android). In addition to having its web version at venevisionplay.com, it is also available on Roku, Amazon, and Apple TV for smart TV services.

    I tried to watch a series, "Ciudad Bendita." The episodes are uploaded in the wrong order. Now they removed the show from the menu. I can't continue watching it. So frustrating! 😞

    Ads really disrupt the flow, don’t they? Having to hit the Play button over and over gets frustrating. It would be so nice if everything just continued smoothly without that interruption. Enjoying a video should be easy!

    The app is great. The On Demand signal works smoothly, but the live streams can be a bit choppy and freeze too often. The On Demand catalog is fantastic, especially the "Ponte Al Día" option with current telenovelas. It's perfect for keeping up if someone misses an episode. It would be awesome if they could add more content from their past programming too.

    Gatorade ads are everywhere. It's like they pop up at the most random times. Bright colors, intense athletes, and that catchphrase. Always pushing the idea of energy and hydration. The music is loud, the visuals are flashy. It gets under your skin sometimes. You can't escape them, even during the most unexpected moments. Just when you think you've tuned it out, there it is again. Driving you wild!
