Available on both iOS and Android platforms, TRI offers a seamless, convenient, and secure transaction experience. Here’s how it operates:
Purchasing Credit:
You can purchase advance or student tickets through cash or credit card. Once payment is processed, your card will be credited within two * business days when utilized in public transport.
* In some exceptional cases, this timeframe may extend to four business days. If there are any questions regarding the crediting date, the app will notify you when the credits are accessible.
Balance Inquiry:
The current balance on your card can be viewed, displayed following the most recent activity reported by the system.
Last Usage Check:
You can access details about your last 10 card uses, including the date, time, the company operating the line, the bus designation, and the amount charged.
Cancellation and New Request:
You can initiate a request to cancel your card and ask for a new one *. For security during this process, confirming certain information is required. It’s a quick and straightforward procedure, and you will receive a protocol via email.
* For student cards, duplicates must be requested through the educational institution.
Updating Contact Information:
By keeping your information current, TRI can reach out in case of any issues and ensure you stay informed about system services and updates.
GPS Feature:
This function enables you to check anticipated arrival times and monitor collective routes in real time. You can also save your bus stops and lines as favorites, as well as view all the lines serving each stop along with their travel times.
* The GPS functionality links to an external application containing comprehensive information.

TRI - Integrated Transportation is the electronic ticketing system for public transit in Porto Alegre. Using the TRI card allows access to buses, selective transport, and trains. Since its launch in 2007, the system has continued to expand its offerings and benefits for users. The app now introduces even more advantages, so make the most of it!
About TRI
What is TRI?
TRI-Integrated Transportation is the electronic ticketing system used in Porto Alegre's public transportation system. Conceived based on extensive research, TRI was designed and developed with the needs of the people of Rio Grande do Sul in mind. The name TRI itself refers to a typical Gaucho expression, meaning "something really cool." At the same time, the word TRI carries the initials of Integrated Transportation. Thus, we combine what is good with what is functional for those who need it most: our passengers.
TRI was implemented in stages. In 2007, the first cards were registered and distributed. The passenger category chosen to launch the new system was those exempt from paying the fare. From that moment on, they no longer needed to stand at the front of the bus. They could enjoy greater comfort when passing through the turnstiles. In 2008, students and teachers were registered, which streamlined and made the use of the school benefit more dynamic. Next came users of public transportation vouchers and advance (regular) tickets, who were able to enjoy a safer and more convenient system. Currently, Porto Alegre passengers also receive a 50% discount on their second bus ride.
Initially created for use on Porto Alegre buses, the TRI Card has expanded its capabilities to other modes of transportation. Today, it is also accepted on Porto Alegre's selective public transportation system and on the train, which connects the capital to other cities in the metropolitan region. More than 1.3 million people have the TRI Card and use it daily to get around. We are proud to be part of this routine and offer the people of Rio Grande do Sul the best of this project: technology, convenience, safety, savings, and integration!
