The Halal Scanner App is designed to help you determine whether preservatives, colorants, or food chemical additives are Halal (حلال), Haram (حرام), or Mushbooh (مشبوه) (which means doubtful or Makrouh). This is an essential tool for Muslims who are mindful of their dietary choices.
Utilize the image scanning feature of the TagHalal App to swiftly identify products to avoid within seconds (ensure the camera is focused on the ingredient list of the item). 📷 Moreover, you'll find out if these preservatives, colorants, and chemical additives are authorized by prominent food regulation authorities like those in the European Union 🇪🇺, the United States 🇺🇸, and Australia 🇦🇺. 📡
🏺 Our goal is to assist Muslims in being confident that their products are free from Haram ingredients. Often, supermarket items may contain preservatives, dyes, or chemical additives labeled with various names or E-codes (for instance, E120 is considered Haram as it originates from an insect). It can be challenging for a Muslim to memorize all these terms. With the Halal Scanner App, you won’t have to worry as it identifies nearly all existing preservatives, colorants, or chemical additives and presents them to you in a straightforward manner. 🏺
KEY FEATURES:
▶ ️ 🔍 Comprehensive search engine:
Search using E-codes or E-Numbers of preservatives, colorants, and chemical additives, as well as by the additive name.
▶ ️ 👁️🗨️Identify additives in the product:
Scan the ingredients section, and within moments, the E-code or E-number scanner will determine the types of Halal or Haram (حلال او حرام) additives present.
▶ ️ 🔥 Halal Image Scan:
Employ the image scanning capability to check if the product is Halal or Haram (حلال او حرام). The algorithm recognizes the E-codes, E-numbers, or names of the additives.
▶ ️ 🕹️ Evaluation of each additive or scanned product:
You can assess whether a preservative, dye, or chemical additive is deemed Halal or Haram (حلال او حرام). This evaluation not only assists you but supports Muslims globally. You can also provide feedback on the scan results, which will be considered by our team. Your feedback is valuable, as we strive to fulfill our mission of aiding Muslims worldwide.
▶ ️ ☠️ Toxicity assessment:
Find out which additives are harmful or beneficial to your health. Each additive provides information regarding its toxicity level.
▶ ️ 🚫 Indication of approvals by food regulators:
For every additive, you can discover if it is permitted by the regulatory bodies in Europe, the USA, or Australia.
▶ ️ 📋 Save your history:
All scanned products will be stored for future reference or sharing with family and friends. With just one click, you can relay whether these products are Halal (حلال), Haram (حرام), or Makruh (مكروه), advising others to avoid non-Halal items.
What does Zabihah or Dhabīḥah mean? 🐏
Livestock such as cows, sheep, chickens, etc., are Halal, but they must be Zabihah (ذَبِيْحَة) (slaughtered according to Islamic law) to be permissible for consumption. Certain chemical additives are not Halal (حلال) as they may originate from animals that are not processed in accordance with Zabihah or Dhabīḥah (ذَبِيْحَة) standards, rendering them Haram for Muslim consumers. 🐓 To confirm that a product containing animal derivatives meets the Dhabīḥah (ذَبِيْحَة) requirements, ensure it carries certification from a reputable Muslim organization.
This app won't specify whether a product is Zabihah or not, but it can inform you if an additive has animal sources, which enables you to deduce its Halal status based on whether you're in a Muslim-majority region.

This app was my go to for two years but unfortunately I have no idea what has happened since last December because now I cannot load any pictures to send for information. Which sucked because I like to scan whatever I am buying in my groceries and I can't send pictures to give the app more products in their info. This app's uploading picture is not working on my phone nor my husband's.
I love this app. It helped me a lot with scanning multiple products and knowing if they're Halal or not . But after the last update scanning barcodes is taking much longer than before. 30 seconds to a minute compared to maximum 10 seconds before. It would be great if you fix this problem. Thank you for your amazing work.
I've been using this app for two years and it has been incredibly helpful in identifying halal products. However, today I was disappointed to find out that after scanning a few items, I was told I need to buy a premium package to continue using it. While I understand the need to monetize, it’s frustrating as this app has always been free and there are other apps that provide similar services at no cost. I hope the developers reconsider this decision."
Really good app, BUT last week, i scanned a product that the app told Halal. But it didn't seem halal to me as on its packaging, there was meat, so i checked its ingredients, and it had pork in it.... i would request the developers to please recheck all products after adding it to your halal product list and verify it properly through reliable resources, as like me many muslim brothers will be relying completely on this app before buying food.
Works great and all but I noticed something. It's only scans additives. If the word is just written, like white wine vinegar, it doesnt scan it. I tried it with a sauce that has ingredients like water, sugar, wheat flour and a word I couldnt pronounce and dont know what it means and it only scanned that word. Be careful and dont just scan it with your phone and call it a day. You have to read the ingredients.
Not complete product. Only a few products approved by the dependent company was halal. This is a business app not for guidance Muslims. I check more than 300 products that have original HALAL marks, and this app doesn't show correctly. Only some made in India products was approved , many product of turkey, Pakistan, UAE, Iran, Lebanon and other Islamic countries that not in this app.
The default status of the barcode scan is showing Halal which is too bad, I have been using this app for 2 years, but I realised just recently if some products are unknown by the app, it indicates as halal when you scan it. I discovered by chance, I first scanned the barcode which shows halal, when I scanned the ingredients of the same product, it showed Haram and then after I realised actually in barcode scan result, it was indicated that there is no info about this product. Fix needed ASAP.
