I am having trouble logging in

Sorry to hear you're having trouble logging in to your account. If you follow this guide, you can get access to your account in no time!

1.Go to the Account Recovery page to get started.

2.Type in the email you used to register with. If you have forgotten the email you used to register with go to Forgotten which email I used section and enter the additional information requested.

3.We will then send you a verification code to your email. This is so we can verify you are the true owner of your account. Please allow sometime for this email to arrive in your inbox and if you have not received it you can request another code by clicking on the "Resend code" link.

4.If you still have not received the email please take sometime to checkout some troubleshooting tips.

5.Enter the code you received in your email and press Continue.

6.Choose how you would like to login. You can either change the password on your account now or skip it and just login to your account straight away.

What about password security?

It is important to have a strong password and then to keep that password secure. You'll probably know not to use obvious things for your password - so avoid your date of birth, family names and so on. View your password as a 'passphrase', take 3-5 unconnected words and put them together, add some numbers, capitalisations and special characters to increase the complexity. Follow the additional tips we give next to the form for password updates. We may require your new password to contain special characters and be longer then a specific length. Memorise it. Don't write it down or give it to others. Do not reuse the same password for your email.

Not receiving SmartSpending emails?

If you're not receiving emails from SmartSpending in your email account be sure to check your email's spam folder, junk folder, social tab, and promotional tab. Email providers sometimes route emails from new sources to these folders.

Check with your email provider to ensure emails from txn.mail.rewardgateway.net aren't blocked. If you are using your work email address to access SmartSpending this would most likely be your IT team.

Allow enough time for your email to be delivered before requesting it again. It may sometimes take slightly longer depending on the security settings on your email provider.

No longer have access to your email?

1.Go to "Forgotten your details" section

2.Type in your email address that you used to register with

3.Click you "No longer have access to this email"

4.Enter the additional information requested from you

5.Type in a new email address that you have access to

6.Enter the verification code that we emailed you to your new email address

7.Voila! Now you can start using this new email address to login to your account

Do I need to adjust the security settings on my computer?

The vast majority of members are able to earn Cashback without needing to adjust any settings on their computers. If you are using a normal work or home computer (sometimes called 'standard build') then Cashback should track automatically providing none of the security settings have been changed. Some computers however, with particular security settings, may block retailers from tracking your Cashback.

If you think you are having problems with Cashback tracking, you can check the following to see if any of the points apply to you:

Internet Explorer - go to Tools -> Internet Options and click on the Privacy/Security tab. 'Medium' is the default setting, and is recommended by Microsoft for everyday internet use. This setting will enable retailers to set tracking cookies, and therefore allow you to earn Cashback.

Firefox (in Mircrosoft Windows) - Choose Tools -> Options from the menu, then select the privacy tab. From here choose 'cookies' and tick the box that says 'allow sites to set cookies'. The 'for originating website only' option should be unchecked.

Firefox (in Mac) - Choose Firefox -> Preferences from the menu, then select the privacy tab. From here tick the box that says 'Accept cookies from sites' and also tick 'Accept third-party cookies'.

If you use Norton Internet Security or Zone Alarm Pro or Kerio Personal Firewall you will need disable the ad blocking feature. Turning off ad blocking is a very simple procedure that does not harm your internet security. Ad blocking is not necessary for most internet users.

Norton Internet Security: double click on the green 'globe' icon on the task bar at the bottom right of your screen. This will open up Norton. Click on 'Ad Blocking' from the main screen. Then click on 'turn off' from the right hand menu bar. Disabling this feature does NOT affect your firewall

Zone Alarm Pro: turn off 'cookie control' and 'ad blocking'. Double click on the Zone Alarm icon on th taskbar at the bottom right of your screen, click on the privacy button, and move the relevant sliders to the 'off' position. Disabling these features does NOT affect your firewall.

Kerio Personal Firewall: consult your software help for instructions on disabling ad blocking on this product.

Anti-spyware or Anti-adware Products: these products are sometimes over zealous in protecting your privacy and prevent us from tracking your purchase. If you have such a product that runs continuously in the background (i.e. an icon is displayed on your toolbar on the bottom right of the screen) you should exit this product when attempting to earn Cashback.

Other Advert Blocking or Cookie Blocking Software (except pop up blockers): if you have any other advert blocking or cookie blocking software you must also disable it to earn Cashback. This excludes pop up blockers such as the Google toolbar which ARE compatible with Cashback tracking.
