pCloud Lifetime FAQs

Lifetime is an official pCloud plan, where we provide you with a lifetime use of your Premium storage at pCloud, at a single, one-time payment.

How long does “Lifetime” refer to?

We have defined a Lifetime account as 99 years or the lifetime of the account holder, whichever is shorter. Please refer to pCloud's Terms and Conditions for more information.

Does pCloud have a minimum period under which Lifetime usage will be guaranteed?

In essence, by paying a couple of years in advance, you're getting storage for a lifetime.

If you’re in doubts about the Lifetime plan as a solution to your storage needs, we recommend our monthly and annual subscription plans.

Can I upgrade my 500GB Lifetime account to the 2TB Lifetime plan?

Yes, that’s possible. Keep in mind, though, that you won't be able to deduct the amount you paid for your 500 GB Lifetime plan, from the price of the plan to which you want to upgrade. This is due to the fact that all possible discounts have been included in the price of the Lifetime plan.

If you decide to upgrade your Lifetime account, the amount of Lifetime storage you initially had will add up to your new plan. For example, if you are a 500 GB Lifetime member and you’re upgrading to 2 TB Lifetime, after your upgrade you will have 2.5 TB of storage.

I have an annual/monthly subscription at pCloud. Can I upgrade to a Lifetime plan?

Yes, you can upgrade at any time you wish. Keep in mind, however, that it is NOT possible to deduct your subscription payment from the price of the Lifetime membership.

Does the Lifetime Premium and Premium Plus plan include Lifetime pCloud Encryption?

The Lifetime Premium and Premium Plus plans don't include pCloud Encryption. You can always add a Lifetime Crypto membership to your Lifetime plan by purchasing it separately.

How long will my Lifetime account stay active if I am not performing any operations?

There is no inactivity clause for Lifetime users. Even if you are inactive, your Lifetime account and the content there will stay.

Two-factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication gives your account extra security by asking you to provide an additional code when logging in to pCloud. That way, even if someone finds your password, they still won't be able to access your pCloud account.

How it works

With two-factor authentication, you can access your pCloud account only on trusted devices. Whenever you want to log in from a browser or device that is not secure, you will need to provide a security code, along with your login credentials. The code will be sent as a text message (SMS) to your phone, or as a notification if you already have a device with a logged pCloud account.

Trusted devices

Upon each login with two-factor authentication, you have the option to mark the current device as trusted, i.e. you will not be asked for a security code on this device for the next 30 days.

Security code

The security code will be sent to you automatically upon login.

Recovery code

When you set up two-factor authentication, you will receive 10 one-time recovery codes. You can use them whenever you have issues accessing your pCloud account with two-factor authentication (e.g. when your phone isn't around or you have no devices logged in pCloud).

You can view and download your recovery codes from the two-factor authentication settings in pCloud. It is important that you store these codes somewhere safe, should you need them to access pCloud. A recovery code can be used only once.

If you have used all your recovery codes or you suspect that they have been compromised, you can reset them at any time from the two-factor authentication settings.

Picture the cloud - not bad on its own. But the app, not up to par for a cloud app. It can't verify file checksums to avoid re-uploading files. You have to select items one by one, can't do multiple at once! Kind of silly, right? Lately, heard about users unhappy that pCloud and others scan your files for anything "illegal" and might even shut down your account. That's the opposite of privacy!

My thoughts on the app have changed as I've been using it more. The feature for sharing files has proven to be quite handy, especially for larger or multiple file transfers. Unfortunately, music files won't sync between devices, which is disappointing. When I first tried uploading my music library, I encountered some issues, but a day later everything worked smoothly once I disabled the Spectrum Router firewall causing the problem. The built-in music player in the app is a nice addition. I'm now exploring how synced folders work between my phone and PC - specifically, what happens if I delete a file on one device and how it affects the other, or whether adding/deleting files on one device will lead to changes on the other device.

The app used to work well. However, with each update, the menu becomes more cluttered. A recent update was a big step back, as it now starts on a silly and unnecessary Start page instead of the list of files. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable this feature. Even though many users have requested it, the company has not fixed the problem. As a result, the app is now considered bloated and has received a low rating of 1 star.

Wow, the uploading speed is so fast on this platform compared to Google Drive, and it's super reliable. I finally managed to upload all 10 gigabytes after going through all the necessary steps. The uploading process is extremely fast and reliable, plus there's an option to lock for privacy. There are some tasks you need to do to unlock more storage, which can be a bit tricky, but it's definitely worth it! I love that you can see full picture previews unlike with Google Drive. It's even faster than Icedrive. I would love to see a dark theme feature for better viewing of pictures. And the best part is, there are no annoying ads!

Can you believe it?! The music player is just awful! And don't even get me started on the customer service – it's total nonsense. So, get this: I transferred all my music from my computer to my phone, right? But when I use the player, it doesn't organize my songs by artist or album, and the titles are all mixed up. But here's the kicker – everything looks perfect when I check the files outside of the player. The worst part? I can't even make a playlist from the files; I'm stuck using the annoying player section. It's a complete mess!

Sure! You know how the music app currently has the option to replay all songs in your playlist, right? Well, what if they added a feature where you could just have one specific song on repeat without needing to keep restarting it manually each time it ends? Wouldn't that be convenient? And what about having quick access to essential music controls like Back, Pause/Play, and Skip directly from the lock screen notification? It would make playing and managing your music so much easier, especially if you use this app frequently like I do. Hopefully, these improvements can be considered for future updates!

This app is super quick and easy to use. I really like it and think it's perfect for anyone looking for a fantastic, speedy, and efficient cloud storage solution. It's awesome how you can play media files right within the app and upload files to access them offline later on. Plus, having a virtual drive on your computer means you can keep all your files in the cloud and clear up space on your PC. Overall, it's just a really great app that I highly recommend.

Trustworthy, with lots of storage space and a really great user interface. It has completely changed how I handle my files and work from different places. I can even use most programs directly from the Cloud Drive. One thing I would suggest is not to upload your entire drive all at once – it's better to do a few folders at a time to keep your system running smoothly and avoid missing any files during the transfer. I really think it's worth giving it a try!

The storage and syncing service has been alright. But with the most recent update, the app got better in some ways but worse in others. Now, the files don't show dates on the list, so it's harder to find the right file sometimes. Also, when downloading to the device, we don't get to choose where to download anymore.

I really like pCloud and I hope they stick around for a long time. I got the lifetime 2 TB plan, which was a great deal for such a good service. It's very convenient because I can back up all my FLAC music files and listen to them on any device. Even though it converts my FLAC files to MP3 for streaming, it would be even better if they could stream FLAC directly. There is one thing missing that prevents me from giving it a perfect rating - the ability to select a folder or folders and upload/download them all at once. Once they add this feature, it will be a 5 star service for me.
