Mehiläinen announced on April 1, 2025, that it has signed agreements to acquire Regina Maria, a leading healthcare company in Romania, and MediGroup, a leading healthcare company in Serbia. Mehiläinen wishes to express its gratitude to its advisors in the transaction.
In the acquisition process, Mehiläinen is collaborating with banking partners, Jefferies and Goldman Sachs. Legal advisors include White & Case, Latham, Bondoc si Asociatii SCA, and BOPA, with EY acting as the financial advisor.
"We are honored to have contributed to the signing of the largest transaction to date in the healthcare sector in Romania and Serbia. Regina Maria is a very well-known company in the private healthcare sector. Regina Maria offers extensive medical clinic and hospital services to over 2 million customers annually with approximately 11,000 professionals. In its sister company, MediGroup, healthcare services are provided with over 2,500 employees. The completion of the acquisitions requires regulatory approvals.
