Our newly launched BML Mobile Banking app is designed to be user-friendly, safe, and secure for all your daily banking requirements. Apart from enabling you to manage your accounts and cards, we have added new functionalities such as access to joint and business profiles, Quick Pay for transfers without the need to save a contact, generating receipts for previous transactions, and various helpful support features. You can also send and receive messages, handle your cards, and apply for services directly through the application.

To utilize the BML Mobile Banking app, registration for Internet Banking is necessary.

Foreign Currency Support to Maldivians

Medical and Educational purposes

Bank of Maldives provides foreign currency support to Maldivians traveling abroad for medical and education purposes based on US Dollars allocated to the Bank by the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).

Eligibility criteria for these requests detailed below are set in line with MMA’s guidelines.

Request Timelines for Medical Foreign Currency Support

All requests must be submitted via the Mobile Banking App or Internet Banking message according to the following timelines:

Cash Requests:

Medical covered under Aasandha: 2 working days prior to departure date

 Medical treatments outside Aasandha and NSPA: 3 working days prior to departure date

Account Transfer Requests:

Medical covered under Aasandha: 1 working days prior to departure date

Medical treatments outside Aasandha and NSPA: 2 working days prior to departure date

Customers may request to receive medical foreign currency as a credit to their account, and conveniently withdraw cash from our USD ATMs.

Payments may be credited directly to the account of:

The patient

Immediate family member (parents, siblings, spouse, or children)

Guardian

A designated caretaker

Customers may also request to receive USD funds in cash.

Important Notes on Crediting to a Third-Party Account:

If the USD amount is being deposited to the account of a family member, guardian, or designated caretaker, the following must be provided:

A valid travel ticket and proof of relationship with the patient

Caretaker details must be submitted by the patient, or by an immediate family member or the patient’s guardian through a signed declaration or via internet banking message.

    The latest BML app only works for iPhone users. It feels frustrating. Android phone users struggle without access. An update would really help everyone out. 😢😢😢

    The app's crashing issue after the update got fixed. Users still face the $250 limit. Many want this limit gone to give it a five-star rating.

    Before the update, everything worked fine. Now, no matter how many times I try, it just won't open. It keeps crashing every time. Frustrating!

    The transaction details are a complete mess. They don’t follow any kind of order, just all jumbled up. It’s frustrating to deal with this for over a year. Nothing has changed or improved. Definitely disappointing.
