About us

Like most good things, Mindfulness.com was born out of a lifelong friendship, and a shared desire to create a more kind and conscious world.

In 2014, mindfulness teacher Melli O’Brien and tech entrepreneur Matt Dickinson joined forces with one purpose in mind: To empower people to realize their fullest potential through the transformative power of mindfulness.

They wanted to find a way to make these time-tested mindfulness tools approachable, accessible, and practical for people to use in their everyday lives.

They decided to test the waters by creating a global mindfulness conference where people could gather and learn.

What they wound up creating was the world’s largest mindfulness conference: 40 of the most globally respected mindfulness teachers, a community of more than 300,000 people, thousands of transformed lives, and hundreds of thousands raised for mindfulness-based charities.

They officially launched Mindfulness.com in 2020.

Today, Mindfulness.com is a global hub for the mindfulness movement run by a small, scrappy, enthusiastic team of creators, tech wizards, teachers, and marketers who are committed to the vision of a more mindful world.

Our mission is alive in three main components:

It helps me navigate through the anxiety and stress, bringing calmness back into my life.

    I've been using this app for about a month. Sessions are limited unless you subscribe. However, I’ve found enough that it’s actually useful. You can choose the length of your meditation. The difference between the 5 and 10-minute sessions comes down to how long you sit in silence. Silence still makes my mind race, so the 5-minute ones suit me better. On weeks when life feels lighter, I might try the free trial and consider subscribing later on.

    Every time you open the app, that first screen saying “take a moment” pops up. The first time it felt nice, like a little surprise. Now it just gets frustrating. You can’t skip it and have to wait before getting into the app. It disrupts the flow.

    It got stuck on the message about personalizing my experience. Eventually, it worked after I clicked around a bit. Now all I hear is this silly sleeping Cinderella story. After that, it asked me to rate it. Then it told me I've run out of shuffles. I can't play the Cinderella story again. Everything's locked now. I can’t listen to anything without subscribing. I don’t trust the seven-day trial. Many apps still charge you even if you cancel. Sorry, but I can't support this kind of greed.

    Thank you for the update! It's great to hear you received your refund. Just a heads up for other customers: one free trial only. If you try again, expect automatic billing. Now, let's revisit that original experience. You liked the app, but during the free trial action, you got hit with a bill of $94.15. Confusion reigned there. You thought you were signing up for a free trial, yet it seemed like you ended up signed up for an annual subscription instead. Maybe having used a free trial before caused this mix-up. Or perhaps an accidental click led to the billing surprise. Cancellation happened right away, but the message read ‘no refund possible.’ Seeking advice felt necessary.
