Request for Payment Processing of Multi-lane Free Flow Systems in Thailand.
What is M-Flow?
The M Flow system is an automatic toll collection system without barriers (Free Flow) according to the Ministry of Transport's policy to solve traffic congestion problems on expressways and motorways by using AI technology to develop a toll collection system using a camera to record license plates with digital technology such as Video Tolling instead of automatic toll collection using a barrier system. This allows drivers to drive through the toll booth without having to stop or slow down at a speed of up to 120 km/h, helping to clear 2,000 - 2,500 cars/h/lane, which is 5 times faster than the original system. It supports all types of vehicles that are permitted to drive on expressways or expressways, including 4-wheel vehicles, 6-wheel vehicles, and vehicles with more than 6 wheels, by paying the fee electronically after using the service or the Post Paid system, either by paying per time or by billing cycle. Including payment via the website or mobile application of the M-Flow system, as well as payment via QR Code system and payment via automatic deduction system
In 2021, users of the Department of Highways' No. 9 intercity expressway, including Thap Chang Checkpoint 1, Thap Chang Checkpoint 2, Thanyaburi Checkpoint 1, Thanyaburi Checkpoint 2 will experience a new dimension of service, which the Department of Highways and the Expressway Authority of Thailand have integrated into the same format and standards (Single Platform System) to prepare to expand the use of the M Flow system on intercity expressways and expressways on other routes.
How does the M-Flow system work?
The system will have a license plate detection camera and the Motorway Department will provide RFID installation services in the near future.
How is M-Flow different from Easy-Pass or M-Pass?
Answer: M-Flow is a convenient way to provide services without barriers, so there is no need to slow down at the toll booth. It also allows users to drive first and pay later, with multiple payment channels. Users do not need to cancel their Easy-Pass or M-Pass services because they can be used with the M-Flow system.
When will M-Flow start to be available?
Answer: M-Flow will start to open for registration on October 29, 2021 onwards. During the registration period, it will be open for running
through the route for a virtual test, but there will be no service fee on the M-Flow system. Motorists will still have to pay at the original Motorway payment booths as usual. The full M-Flow service will be provided after the test is completed.
There will be further announcements through various channels. During this period, there are promotions for members as follows:
1. Promotion: Free 2 trips for 100,000 rights (80,000 rights for 4-wheel vehicles, 10,000 rights for 6-wheel vehicles, more than 10,000 rights for 6-wheel vehicles)
2. Those who choose the M-Pass payment method will receive 100 baht cash back in their wallets, limited to 20,000 rights.
