The Activities Agency promotes and encourages economic activity by simplifying administrative procedures.
Madrid is a city that seeks to consolidate its position as an important hub for national and international economic activity. It is one of the European cities with the most economic activity within its territory and has been recognized for its leadership in developing sustainable economic initiatives.
The Activities Agency, an Autonomous Body of the Madrid City Council, is responsible for processing the procedures necessary for the initiation or modification of any economic activity carried out in the city of Madrid, including any construction work required, in accordance with the Ordinance for the Opening of Economic Activities in the City of Madrid (OAAE). It also carries out the necessary inspection and control tasks for all economic activities and the construction work they entail.
With the approval of this Service Charter, the Madrid City Council demonstrates its commitment to quality and continuous improvement of the services it provides. The plan aims to achieve the following objectives:
Effective implementation of municipal administrative intervention measures for the opening and operation of economic activities in the City of Madrid.
Boosting Madrid's economy by streamlining administrative procedures and simplifying the process for obtaining licenses or permits.
Establishing a new framework for public-private collaboration, based on the optional decision of citizens.
