“LUUP” is a mobility-sharing service that enables you to use compact e-bikes and e-scooters for travel throughout the city, allowing you to pick them up from any location and return them wherever you choose. This service is currently active in cities like Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Yokohama, Utsunomiya, Kobe, Nagoya, Hiroshima, Sendai, Fukuoka, Kitakyushu, and Hamamatsu! Consider utilizing this service for trips to work, school, shopping, or other destinations that are slightly too far for walking!

FEATURES

After verifying your age and passing a traffic rules assessment, you're ready to ride.

HOW TO USE LUUP

Using LUUP is simple and can be done in [4 easy steps]!

1.Locate LUUP parking nearby

Parking locations can be found using the app's map

2.Use the app’s camera to scan the QR code on the vehicle to unlock it

Select your desired return location before starting your ride to ensure proper vehicle return (* This can be changed during the ride)

3.Begin your journey to your destination

4.Conclude your ride by taking a photo of your LUUP bike or scooter parked at the designated area and completing your payment in the app

PRICE

City and region determine prices.

In Tokyo and Osaka, the cost is 50 yen (tax included) as a basic fare plus 20 yen per minute (tax included) as a time fee.

For other key areas, the charge is 50 yen (tax included) as a basic fee plus 15 yen per minute (tax included) for time.

*Currently, both e-scooters and bicycles share the same pricing structure.

- Credit card registration is necessary.

*The term “loop” is occasionally misused; however, the accurate name is “LUUP”.

Subscription Plan Details

This plan allows users who subscribe for ¥980 per month to use LUUP for ¥200 per 30 minutes. Even if you subscribe to a subscription plan, the regular rate will apply for rides where the regular rate is cheaper.

Example: For rides of 7 minutes or less in an area where the regular rate is ¥50 (base ride fee + ¥20 per minute), the regular rate is cheaper than the subscription plan's ¥200 per 30 minutes, so the regular rate will apply.

This plan is recommended for those who use LUUP for long periods of time or who prefer 30-minute increments instead of minute-by-minute increments.

*Subscription plans are automatically renewed monthly. To stop automatic renewal of your subscription plan, please cancel automatic renewal in the LUUP app by the day before your subscription renewal date.

How to Use a Subscription Plan

Once you subscribe to a subscription plan and ride in the applicable areas, the subscription plan will be applied.

Price

Monthly Fee: ¥980 (tax included)

Ride Fee: ¥200 per 30 minutes (tax included)

*If the regular rate is cheaper, the regular rate will apply.

Example: For a 4-minute 30-second ride (Tokyo/Osaka area)

- Regular rate (¥50 base ride fee + hourly rate of ¥20 per minute * 5 minutes) → ¥150

- Subscription Plan (¥200 per 30 minutes) → ¥200

The regular rate of ¥150 will apply.

Example: For a 10-minute 30-second ride (Tokyo/Osaka area)

- Regular rate (¥50 base ride fee + hourly rate of ¥20 per minute * 11 minutes) → ¥270

- Subscription plan (¥200 per 30 minutes) → ¥200

The ¥200 discounted rate applies.

For rides over 30 minutes

With the subscription plan, ¥200 is added for every 30 minutes.

¥200 for rides exactly 30 minutes

¥400 for rides between 30 minutes 1 second and 60 minutes

¥600 for rides between 60 minutes 1 second and 90 minutes

Fractions less than a minute are rounded up. Even if you exceed the ride time by one second, a ¥200 charge will be added, so we recommend finishing your ride and returning your bike well in advance.

About using a subscription plan and a coupon discount at the same time

Coupon discounts are applied even if you are subscribed to a subscription plan. The coupon discount will be applied after calculating the ride fare with the subscription plan applied.

Q. My application failed even after I registered a valid card.

If your application fails multiple times, you may receive an error even with a valid card.

You may be able to successfully apply after a while, so please try again the next day.

About Automatic Subscription Renewal

Subscription plans are automatically renewed every month.

To cancel automatic renewal of your subscription plan, please cancel automatic renewal in the LUUP app by the day before your subscription renewal date.

If your subscription plan payment fails (due to an expired credit card, for example), your subscription plan will not be automatically renewed and you will be terminated.

Even if you cancel your subscription's automatic renewal, the subscription fee will still apply to rides during the subscription's active period.

Canceling your subscription's automatic renewal does not provide a refund for the monthly subscription fee.

How to Cancel Your Subscription/Auto-Renewal

You can request automatic renewal from the Subscription Plan page in the app.

Once requested, your subscription will be canceled at the expiration date, and the next automatic renewal (payment) will not be made.

The subscription plan fee will apply to all rides for which payment is completed during the subscription plan's active period. Please note that even if a ride starts during the active period, if payment is completed after the active period, the subscription plan fee will not apply and you will be charged at the regular usage rate.

The subscription plan's active period begins when you sign up for the subscription plan (or at the time of renewal, if continuing). The subscription plan's active period ends at the end of the one-month anniversary date from the start of the active period. For example, if you sign up for a subscription plan at 1:00 PM on November 10th, the subscription plan fee will apply to rides for which payment is completed after 1:00 PM on November 10th and before 11:59 PM on December 10th.

Subscription plans are automatically renewed every month. For example, if you sign up for a subscription plan on November 10th, it will be automatically renewed on December 10th. The next automatic renewal will be on January 10th of the following year. You can check the next renewal date in the LUUP app.

If you want to stop the automatic renewal of your subscription plan, please stop the automatic renewal in the LUUP app by the day before your subscription plan's renewal date. For example, if you want to stop the automatic renewal of a subscription plan that is scheduled to automatically renew on December 10th, please stop it by 11:59 PM on December 9th. You cannot stop the automatic renewal on December 10th, the day of the automatic renewal.

When you sign up for a subscription plan and when your subscription plan automatically renews, the monthly subscription fee will be charged using the payment method registered in the LUUP app. If you have not registered a payment method in the LUUP app, please register one from within the LUUP app. If you change your payment method, the new payment method will be used from the next payment.

If your subscription plan payment fails (due to an expiration of your credit card, for example), your subscription plan will not be automatically renewed and you will be canceled. Please note that since your membership has been canceled, the subscription plan fee will no longer be applied. Even after canceling your subscription plan due to a payment failure, you can resubscribe by registering a valid payment method.

Even if you cancel the automatic renewal of your subscription plan, the subscription plan fee will still apply to any rides while your subscription is active. For example, if you sign up for a subscription plan on November 10th and cancel automatic renewal on November 30th, the subscription plan fee will still apply to any rides whose payment is completed by 11:59 PM on December 10th.

Canceling the automatic renewal of your subscription plan does not result in a refund of the monthly subscription plan fee.

Subscription plans cannot be shared across multiple accounts, nor can they be transferred to an account other than the one used to purchase the subscription. Similarly, if you create a new account due to a change in phone number, for example, your subscription plan cannot be transferred to the new account.

Please note that LUUP service may end in certain cities before the expiration date of your subscription plan.

Monthly subscription fees and contents are subject to change.
