LK - Music controller app

NOTICE: LK functions as a controller application and does not generate audio. If you want an app you can use to play music on your mobile device, look for DRC instead.

LK is an advanced remote control application designed for music software and hardware, with seamless integration into Ableton Live. It offers easy customization with four separate modules, an intuitive interface, and creative tools, making it an essential asset for any electronic music producer.

Here’s what you will discover:

- Manage nearly every element within Ableton Live, encompassing composition, automation, clips, tracks, devices, and more using MATRIX.

- Experience the MPC vibe directly on your touchscreen with MIDI PADS, which come equipped with an arpeggiator and chorder. This module operates in two modes: Ableton Live and MIDI. In Ableton Live mode, it automatically aligns drum rack pad names to each respective pad on the app, ensuring you never overlook a pad.

- Gain extensive control over 128 parameters via the MIDI Controller. Similar to MIDI PADS, this module also supports both MIDI and Ableton Live modes. Forget about tedious MIDI mapping; in Ableton Live mode, simply use the learn function to select and modify parameters… you’ll be ready to perform!

- Adjust parameters in three dimensions with the X/Y PAD. Like MIDI PADS and the MIDI CONTROLLER, this module functions in both MIDI and Ableton Live modes, allowing for quick parameter assignment on-the-fly using the learn feature.

- Create chords like never before with the CHORDER module. Operating in either Live or MIDI mode, you can utilize the chorder generator to conceptualize your chords and organize them to meet your requirements.

- The keyboard module provides an enhanced keyboard controller for Live or MIDI, complete with three-axis expression capabilities. It is fully customizable regarding scale and keyboard range. You can map any Live or MIDI CC parameters to specific positions across the keys, adding depth to the performance of each note.

The option to connect USB MIDI interfaces empowers you to engage with external equipment while simultaneously managing Ableton Live, as you can seamlessly switch modes anytime.

To link LK to your host computer, you'll need to obtain and install the UBRIDGE software utility on your system. It is compatible with both Windows and OSX.

Overview - LK Help

LK features a modular system for both content and pricing. All modules can be trialled with time-limitations, with the option to unlock any module via in-app purchase, for continued usage. This means that you only need to pay for the modules containing the functions and features that you want to use, providing a flexible way to get great value. You can try any module as many times as you wish, by restarting the app to start a new test session.

Each module is accessible via its own icon/button down the left hand side of the screen, making it easy to switch between them in an instant.

Available modules:

MATRIX - Ableton Session view controller and powerful MIDI clip sequencer and editor

MIDI PADS - MPC style pads with arpeggiator and chorder

MIDI CONTROLLER - faders, knobs and buttons

XY PAD - KAOSS style X/Y MIDI controller

CHORDER - One-touch chord generator

KEYBOARD - MIDI piano keyboard

Above and below the module icons, are two buttons which both provide access to LK’s in-app menu, which contains the following sections:

PROFILE - Login to your Imaginando account

CONNECTION - display available UBRIDGE connections and select active connection

STORE - purchase and activate LK modules

MIDI - show available MIDI connectivity

CONTROLLERS - Show list of officially supported USB MIDI controller devices, and enable/disable each one

SETTINGS - global settings

ABOUT - show version number and info

HELP - opens LK's help page in your browser

Settings

The following global settings are available:

Include chain (slower loading) - when enabled, all chain devices inside each Ableton Live Rack will be loaded and available for edit, otherwise, only the main device will be loaded and available.

Gate launch mode support - when enabled, Matrix clips are triggered using Ableton's 'Gate' launch mode. (Press and hold to play the clip, then release to stop)

Matrix cell Width - change the width of Matrix module clips

Matrix cell Height - change the height of Matrix module clips

Knobs sensitivity - adjust the sensitivity of LK's virtual controls

Notifications - enables/disables push notifications (special sale events and discounts plus any important app related news/messages)

Work in background - app stays active even when not visible
