LIFX - Smart lighting control

Like you, LIFX is committed to smarter lighting. We prioritize how you control your smart lights, just as much as the lights themselves. Our WiFi-enabled bright and colorful smart lights are easily set up without the need for a hub. You can start with just one device.

The LIFX app not only assists in getting you started but enhances your experience with various features. Automate your wake-up schedule, create movie-watching scenes, set up voice control, or experiment with different effects when entertaining.

Installation and Setup

Download the LIFX App:

Available on both Android and iOS platforms. Ensure you have the latest version for optimal performance.

Power on Your LIFX Bulb:

Plug in the bulb and turn it on. The bulb will cycle through colors, indicating that it’s ready for setup.

Connect to Wi-Fi:

Open the LIFX app and tap the ‘+’ icon to add a new device. Select “New Device” and follow the prompts to connect your bulb to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (LIFX does not support 5 GHz networks).

Naming and Grouping:

After connecting, choose a location for your light, assign it to a group if desired, and give it a name (around 10 characters).

Complete Setup:

Once connected, you can start controlling your lights through the app.

Features include:

- Basic functions: on/off, dimming, color change, white temperature adjustment.

- Group control: manage all lights in a group with ease, including on/off and dimming from the Home Dashboard.

- Group personalization: choose LIFX illustrations or personalize Group cards with your own images.

- Schedules: automate light fading, color changes, and on/off times, displayed in a calendar-style view.

- Effects: explore special effects like music visualizer, fire, movement, candle flicker, strobe, color cycle, and more.

- Scenes: customize lighting settings and save them for later use.

- Themes: access one-click color combinations for groups, ranging from 'Proud' to 'Soothing.'

- Paint feature: paint colors live onto LIFX Z, Beam, Tile, and Candle using your finger in the app.

- Custom color palettes: create personalized color palettes of your favorite colors.

- Discover Tab: access How-To guides, integration partners information, or shop for LIFX products.

- Switches: configure switches to control LIFX lights, groups, scenes, and non-LIFX devices.
