Company profiles on JOBS.bg have been updated and have a completely new format. Tell us about your company - what is your main product/service and how did the idea come about?

We are a Bulgarian company with global ambitions and we make electric travel easy for everyone with our own innovative app for roaming charging without heavy planning. Our App solves most of the problems that (for now) stop people from using more and more electric vehicles.

How did we get here?

I have loved cars since I was a child. At 15, my whole room was covered with posters of cars and my favorite book was “Internal Combustion Engines”. Technology is my other passion and so evolution met me with electric vehicles and turned them into my new love. At the same time, I always knew that I had a talent for simplifying things. I am able to do this with any process. So, by combining the three things, Travel By Electric was born.

From the very beginning, the entrepreneur in me saw the huge potential of electric mobility, as well as the problems to be solved – for drivers, the anxiety to try it because it seems complicated to them: “Oh, I’m not going anywhere with this electric car! I’m going to run out of power and what will I do?”, and for the industry, the lack of connectivity and standards, too many different applications for charging and billing, etc. Did you know that in Germany, for example, there are 280 charging networks, which is very confusing for the user. This situation necessitates the creation of a unified platform. That’s exactly what I decided to do.

So, for 6 years now, with our company, we have been helping people travel on electricity. Every day, we break the myth that electric vehicles are only city cars, because we make traveling on electricity easy, even abroad.

We make it so that our customers can get where they want to go, easily and effortlessly. Over the years, we have gained a lot of experience and expertise, and this allows us to be pioneers in an area that is not yet so well-known and developed.

How long did it take you to go from an idea to a working business, what were the biggest challenges and how did you overcome them?

The idea was born at the end of 2018.

The first 12 months were the most romantic. I tested different electric vehicles, traveled a lot and met a large part of the people who represent the business environment in which I am currently developing. I became a member of BESCO in 2019. I did not even realize how important they would be for me.

I will never forget how I registered the company in February 2020, and a month later the world stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic, who could have guessed!

In 2021, it got to the point where I had to part with all my property. I managed to save only the electric car. Once again, I thought that this was the end, but no. A dynamic year followed with many sales and new customers.

2022 was a year of great development. 10 electric cars, a new website, many sales – a strong year. I dreamed again, I even thought – we will succeed!

I entered 2023 with a huge charge, but quite tired, without an investor and with my own funds I continued to buy cars and the electric cars became 20.

Since the beginning of 2024 we have been working on the roaming charging application, which aims to solve not only our problems, but also to help all EV drivers drive more and more calmly.

How did you finance the launch of your company? Did you encounter any difficulties?

Although it is difficult with your own financing and income from the company's activities, we continue. Even if it seems pointless at times, it is not! I have a team of steel – already over 10 people, if we don't count my sister and the dog. :))) Because Travel by electric is no longer just my project. It is also for those iron people who come to work, even though I don't always pay them. They pick me up when I fall, bandage my knees and smear my wounds with Rivanol. So here we go... 6 years after I woke up at 5 in the morning with the idea of developing electric mobility. I know it won't be easy, but nothing in this life is.
