About the app
The official application of the Portuguese public administration provides access to various digital identity services, authentication, and electronic signatures. This app replaces the previous applications id.gov.pt and autenticacao.gov.
Digital Documents
Within this app, users can add and manage various official documents (e.g., Citizen Card, driving license, among others) that hold legal validity. It also allows for the validation of digital documents presented in the app from other devices.
Authentication
The app enables management of several features related to Digital Mobile Key (CMD) and facilitates the signing of .pdf documents.
You can receive access codes, modify the information linked to your Digital Mobile Key, and oversee CMD permissions. Additionally, you have the option to activate the certificates of your Citizen Card or reactivate the CMD through the app.
New Services Coming Soon
In the following months, the gov.pt app will incorporate an increasing number of digital services from various sectors and entities, positioning itself as one of the primary channels for interacting with public services in Portugal. Stay tuned for more updates!

gov.pt has also made a Reserved Area available to its users, which allows them to follow even more services carried out on the portal for citizens and companies. You can find more information on the new gov.pt Reserved Area presentation page.
Updating content
AMA is the entity responsible for developing, managing and maintaining the gov.pt portal, liaising with the various Public Administration bodies to collect, edit and publish the content provided by them.
electronically through the one-stop shop, i.e. the gov.pt portal. These laws also stipulate that information must be properly organised by the services and bodies of the Public Administration and that it must be updated frequently, so as not to disappoint the expectations of citizens and economic agents.
Alignment with Digital Strategy and Civic Participation
Decree-Law No. 49/2024, of August 8, establishes the rules for the provision of digital services by the Public Administration, aiming to create an omnichannel service system. This system ensures that users seeking public services have a seamless, integrated, and consistent experience, regardless of the channel used. The omnichannel approach mandates the implementation of the Single Digital Services Portal – gov.pt – as the central hub for public service delivery.
AMA also provides various channels and initiatives that allow citizens and other stakeholders to contribute to the improvement of digital public services in Portugal. Participation is possible through the contact forms available on these portals or by taking part in periodic initiatives such as the Simplex Program, as well as in research activities, including interviews and workshops.
