They look identical!! Can you tell which of the two CB400 Super Fours is the faulty one?

The CB400 Super Fours in the photos are both used bikes prepared by Red Baron. As you can see, they share not only the exact same color scheme but also the same model year. However, one of these motorcycles hides a fatal defect that could jeopardize safe and enjoyable riding. In fact, we test-rode both bikes on a trial course to compare them and identify the faulty component—can you spot which one is malfunctioning? 

They look the same!! Can you tell which of the two CB400 Super Fours is the faulty one?

It's hard to distinguish with a short test ride. 

There are three faulty points in total, but you can't tell the ABS issue unless you apply sudden brakes, you need to rev the engine to high speeds to check the variable valve, and you won't notice the wheel alignment problem when driving slowly. In other words, you can hardly tell the difference even after riding the test course for a few laps. It's even more difficult to judge the condition of used motorcycles in private sales or online purchases where you only have photos and the seller's comments as judgment materials.

Three faulty points:

① Misaligned wheel alignment

The wheel alignment is off by about 20mm. It's hard to notice when driving on general roads at legal speeds, but it can cause instability in corners, etc.

② Malfunctioning ABS

If the ABS, which is supposed to ensure safety, is faulty, it could be dangerous in case of an emergency... This time, the ABS light was constantly on, so we noticed it immediately.

③ Malfunctioning variable valve

The charm of the CB400SF is that it switches from 2 valves to 4 valves at high speeds. However, this vehicle remains in 2-valve mode, with a power difference of about 20PS.
