FAQS

What is Formula 1?

As the highest class of international racing for single-seater formula racing cars, Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsport and the world’s most prestigious motor racing competition. There really is nothing like it.

It’s a team sport (it needs to be to change all 4 tyres on a car in under 2 seconds!), but the drivers are more like fighter pilots than sportspeople. Battling extreme g-forces, making daring decisions in the blink of an eye – and at 370km/h. To be the best, F1 drivers push themselves – and their incredibly innovative machines – to the very limit.

Drivers compete for the esteemed F1 Drivers’ Championship, while the teams fight for the F1 Constructors’ Championship and prize money based on their position at the end of the season. Each race is known as a Grand Prix, and they’re held in incredible locations around the world. The 2025 Formula 1 calendar – a year that marks the 75th anniversary of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship – features 24 Grand Prix weekends, including six F1 Sprint races, taking place from March through December.

Who races in F1?

Extreme g-forces. Daring decisions made in the blink of an eye – and at 370km/h. Dramatically battling to be the best, Formula 1 drivers are more like fighter pilots than sportspeople. Only 20 get the chance to compete, and they push themselves – and their incredible machines – to the very limit.

Who are the F1 teams?

Formula 1 is a team sport. It needs to be to change all 4 tyres on a car in under 2 seconds! F1 teams design and build their cars and get them ready to race. Each has their own history. Each has their own unique approach. All want to be the fastest.

Where does F1 race?

How do I follow F1?

You know the F1 drivers and teams. You know where we race. Now find out how you can be part of the action, and how you can follow Formula 1 and support your heroes from wherever you are in the world.

Live lap timings and positions for all races would really enhance the experience. The information on the big screens feels too small to read easily, especially when it comes to support races. Fans want to stay updated without straining their eyes. Clear, accessible data would make following every race more engaging and enjoyable.

This app really misses the mark. The icon looks broken, and that sets the tone. You want to find a specific stand, but good luck with that. Clicking on every icon doesn't help. It's frustrating. Searching for race times? All it does is redirect to the website. Such a letdown.

That page just says you can't use that app. It's completely useless, not even a little buggy.

They really don’t seem to bother with keeping the data fresh. I wonder who manages this app. I could totally do that job!

All the times show one hour earlier than they should. No option to fix it. The Formula 1 app displays the correct time. Quite odd. Makes navigation challenging.

Attending an F1 Grand Prix? Forget about trying to stay connected. The bandwidth at the venues falls short. Everyone is on their phones, and it just doesn’t cut it. You miss out on the action while waiting for a signal that never comes. It’s frustrating. You want to keep up, but the reality makes it nearly impossible.

This app is a complete disaster. No timing features, nothing helpful at all. It’s hard to believe this is an F1 app when it feels unworthy of even a backyard race event. What a disappointment. I thought the Apple version was bad, but this is on another level. People want to watch recorded races without having the results spoiled right away. Don't they get that?

The app remains blank. They updated the calendar twice. Still, nothing appears on the screen. Frustrating experience.
