FAQ/Tips
How to add the widget
Event Flow functions as a widget, so you will need to place it on your homescreen from your widget menu. The process may differ slightly based on your Android version and device model, but it typically involves long-pressing an empty space on your homescreen, selecting the "Widgets" option, and then dragging the desired widget onto the homescreen.
If the widget isn't refreshing
This issue might stem from your device having battery-saving features that hinder the widget's updates (it requires daily updates and refreshes before and after each event). Please examine your deviceâs app and battery settings to ensure they donât obstruct the widgetâs functionality.
Why reminders are unavailable
Currently, Google has not enabled reminders for third-party applications. We are monitoring the situation in case this changes.
If my Outlook/Exchange calendar isn't appearing
If you use the Outlook Android application, navigate to the app's settings, select the desired account, and make sure that the "Sync calendars" option is enabled. If this does not resolve the issue, consider adding your Outlook/Exchange account in your device's Settings > Accounts to gain access to those calendars through Google's Calendar app, which should also reflect on the widget.
If my Birthdays/Contacts/Other calendar isnât appearing or syncing
The widget can only access the local calendar database present on your device, managed by Android and your Calendar App. Occasionally, synchronization issues may arise, and refreshing can assist: Go to your device's Settings > Accounts > select your account > Account sync, and refresh the "Calendar" and "Contacts" settings. Then, open Google's Calendar app, access the side menu, and deselect/select the calendars in question.
How to configure the widget to resemble the screenshots
A majority of the screenshots display two widgets concurrently: Place the Calendar Widget at the top, resized to cover one row, and position the Agenda Widget below it, without the header (adjusted via the agenda settings). You can then select your preferred color scheme.
How to choose a specific color for an option
In the color selection tool for that option, tap the central circle showcasing the color, which allows you to input the Hexadecimal code for your desired color (including the alpha component - 0x00 for transparent, 0xFF for solid color). Additionally, you can copy/paste that code from another item.
How to use
To customize your Event Flow app experience, start by selecting the widget that best fits your needs, whether it's the Event Flow, Agenda, or Calendar widget. Each widget can be tailored to your preferences by altering its theme, layout, and event display settings.
For instance, the Event Flow widget offers a weekly overview of your schedule, allowing you to tap into individual events for more in-depth details like descriptions, locations, and attendees. The Agenda widget, on the other hand, presents a detailed daily agenda, highlighting each event's start and end times to assist in daily planning. Meanwhile, the Calendar widget provides a broader monthly view, making it simple to navigate through months using arrows and identify busy days at a glance due to marked events.
Permissions
We prefer applications that do not request excessive permissions without explanation. Hereâs what we need and the rationale:
- Calendar: Required to access your calendar events. This permission is essential for the widget's operation.
- Location: Necessary for displaying the weather forecast for your location. This feature is optional; you can choose not to permit this and either avoid showing the weather forecast or manually select a location for it.
