DexOffline is the offline variant of DexOnline. It offers a convenient solution for those who lack a continuous internet connection. DexOffline is a free software categorized under the "Other" section of educational programs.

Widget Configuration

To ensure the widget operates correctly, please follow these steps:

1.Install the DEX application on your device's internal memory; moving the app to an external card will prevent the widget from functioning due to Android limitations.

2.Download and install the offline database.

Installing the Offline Database

A. You can automatically download the offline database (to internal storage) by selecting the 'Download file' option in the 'Preferences' screen.

B. For manual installation of the offline database, please refer to the tutorial. Note that this method may not be compatible with Android 11 and later versions.

Permissions

The application requires permissions related to Photos/Media/Files as reported by Google Play:

● Read, modify, or delete files in your USB storage: necessary for accessing the sdcard when downloading the offline database.

● WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE: permits automatic downloading of the offline database to internal memory - refer to the Preferences screen for more details. Because of this, these permissions are essential.

● RECORD_AUDIO: enables voice input instead of typing.

● INSTALL_SHORTCUT: allows adding an icon to the home screen for direct access to the application and microphone (see Preferences for shortcut installation).
