FAQS
What is the general insurance policy?
The general insurance policy provides cover for your main healthcare expenses. For example, healthcare provided in the hospital or by your general practitioner, obstetric care and medicines. Every year, the government decides exactly what healthcare is covered by the general insurance policy. You pay a premium for the healthcare included in the general insurance policy. The general insurance policy is compulsory in the Netherlands.
What is covered under the general insurance policy?

FAQS
Will I be reimbursed for dental care under the general insurance policy?
From the age of 18, you will no longer receive reimbursement for normal dental expenses under the general insurance policy. If you require dentures, an implant-retained denture, dental surgery and oral care in special cases, you may receive a reimbursement under the general insurance policy.
Children under 18 do receive a reimbursement under the general insurance policy, but not for orthodontics.
Does my deductible apply to visits to the dentist?
No, your deductible does not apply to normal dental expenses. If you require dentures, an implant-retained denture, dental surgery and oral care in special cases, your deductible does apply.
Furthermore, the deductible never applies in the case of children under 18.
Will I be reimbursed for dental care after an accident?
Only if you have an additional insurance package or dental insurance with us. These packages include cover for dental care after an accident up to an amount of €10,000.
Do I need a dentist’s statement?
Only in the case of the comprehensive dental insurance policy. You do not need a statement for any of our other packages.
Will I be reimbursed for dental care immediately or is there a waiting period?
You receive an immediate reimbursement from us for normal dental care. For orthodontics, a one-year waiting period applies. In other words, you pay the premium for one year first, and are entitled to a reimbursement from the second year onwards.
If you have the ‘Jongeren’ additional insurance package, the waiting period does not apply.

Comments
The app makes it easy to declare expenses and is generally useful to keep track of charges and expenses. Four stars because it has limited functions. You often have to jump out of the app and log into the website to see details about charges and other things regarding your insurance.
Installation went smoothly. It turned out easier than I anticipated. The setup process felt simple. Using it was a breeze. Everything worked seamlessly from the start.
Really wish it also came in English. But trying my best to learn Dutch! Still a bit intimidating when dealing with sensitive medical information in a foreign language but will hopefully get there soon.
The app needs a digid login to work. It doesn’t see the digid app on your phone. You try to log in but it just doesn't let you. So, you can’t install it at all. Super frustrating!
