How does our fuel membership operate?

Who owns Caltex Australia?
Chevron – one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies – owns the Caltex brand and has been present in Australia for more than 70 years.
What does Chevron have to do with Caltex?
Caltex is a global brand owned by Chevron.
In 2020, Chevron acquired the Puma Energy fuel business in Australia and delivers quality fuel and lubricant products through a national network of service stations, primarily under the Puma brand. The plan was always to transition the Puma brand in Australia to Caltex. This change is now underway, and you will soon see select Puma service stations becoming new Caltex sites.
I’ve noticed old Caltex service stations becoming Ampol, and Puma service stations becoming Caltex – what’s going on?
Caltex is a global brand owned by Chevron. The Caltex brand name was previously used by Ampol under an exclusive brand licence in Australia. That licence is no longer exclusive and from 2023 the Caltex brand will be solely used by Chevron.
In 2020, Chevron purchased the Puma Energy fuel business in Australia and has started rebranding many of the Puma service stations to Caltex.
Why is Puma becoming Caltex?
Chevron operates and supplies the Puma service station network in Australia and owns the globally recognised Caltex brand. In January 2022, Chevron started branding new service stations in Australia as Caltex and is rebranding many of its existing Puma service stations as Caltex.
How does Puma becoming Caltex impact me?
Customers will receive the same warm and friendly service and can now take advantage of the specially formulated fuel system-cleaning ingredient Techron® that will be available in all fuel grades at the new Caltex service stations. Customers can expect an easy and seamless experience and access to premium quality products.
How long will my local Puma be shut while it rebrands to Caltex?

What is Techron®?
Techron® is a specially formulated engine-cleaning ingredient that will be available across all fuel grades at the new Caltex service stations. Techron not only removes dirt but also helps prevent deposits from forming on critical parts of your car’s engine. This helps your car’s engine to deliver maximised power, better fuel economy, lower emissions, a smoother drive and reliable performance.
Will Caltex lubricants be available to purchase in-store at new Caltex service stations?
Yes, our Havoline® lubricants for petrol vehicles and Delo® lubricants for diesel vehicles will be available to purchase in-store at new Caltex service stations. Find your nearest Caltex via our service station locator .
Will there be an impact on fuel price if my local Puma becomes a Caltex?
