Blynk has a great concept, but moving away from the old system reveals some annoying issues with the GUI. Aligning widgets should be simple, but the snap to grid feature feels off. Placing widgets takes more time than it should. The Menu widget also poses problems. If it has a title, it cuts off text and resizing isn’t an option. The Text Input widget stands out for being way too large. Plus, when trying to delete something, the delete icon overlaps with the Android Home icon. This many bugs in an app that’s been out for over a year doesn’t feel right.

A year ago, I dove into coding my IoT devices with Blynk. It seemed like a great choice at the time. Now, things have changed. The local server connection doesn’t work anymore. A heads-up about dropping support for local servers would have helped me pick a different platform. Now, I face a tough choice. Either stick with outdated technology or tie my devices to the internet and deal with the costs. Sticking with the legacy system means missing out on new features. It's frustrating!
