B-hyve - Smart irrigation management

This app really shines when it comes to irrigation. Super user-friendly, much better than digital timers. A real game changer! But after using four units for a year, things got tricky. Connection issues started popping up. Disconnections happened way too often. My internet is solid, so that’s not the problem. One unit even stopped working completely. Reconnecting is a hassle. Deleting timers and starting over just isn’t worth it anymore. Frustration levels are high with this situation.

For seven years, this system has taken care of my lawn. It waters automatically. However, the manual rain delay feature stopped working last year. I try to enter a two-day delay. It shows that it’s set, but still says it will water tomorrow. Last year, even with the delay set, it would water anyway. At least now it doesn't give false promises. Having control on my phone is nice, but it could be more automatic.

Things feel calm now. The wifi used to drop out every couple of days, but that seems to be in the past. It’s holding steady right now. I enjoy adjusting settings through the app and getting notifications when watering happens. Support helped a lot with all my programming questions.

Awesome app! It works perfectly in Canada! You input your city's water restrictions like odd or even days and allowed watering hours. Then, add in details about your grass, soil, and terrain. The app takes care of the weather and figures out when to water all by itself! Major water saver! You can also create manual programs if you want or choose not to have specific zones for automatic management. Honestly, it feels nearly perfect! Just a tutorial and a few more slots for manual programs would make it even better!

Super easy to install, the new controller lets you remotely select any zone through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or a dial. Unlike the old one that ran zones in sequence until finished, this one offers flexibility. The phone app allows for naming zones with alphanumeric characters. You can also input your flow rate in gallons per minute, making it simple to estimate total water used in each zone. Enabling the Smart Water feature means adding specific data for each zone and eliminating fixed schedules.

The app is functional but has a glitch. No matter how many days of rain delays I set, it insists on watering today. The information is incorrect, which is frustrating. Also, it would be great to add multiple devices under one schedule. Right now, each device needs independent configuration, and that complicates things.

The experience has been frustrating. The app isn’t user-friendly at all. It fails to perform the basic tasks I need. It just rained heavily, and now it plans to water again tomorrow, despite the automatic rain delay feature. Setting that up was really confusing. I wanted to skip a watering because of the recent rain. If I had tried this app before buying the beehive, I would have made a different choice. I hope sharing this helps someone else avoid the same mistake.
