The tax return application allows you to submit your income tax return for 2024.

You can access your information using your DigiD. After retrieving the data, verify its accuracy. Once everything is confirmed, you can sign and promptly send your tax return.

Note that the Declaration app must be used alongside the DigiD app. Both apps should be installed on the same device, and you will need to enter the PIN code from the DigiD app to access the Declaration app.

If you are filing a tax return with a partner, they also need to have the DigiD app installed on their own device.

Before proceeding, make sure you’re eligible to file your tax return using the app.

Your chances are favorable if there were no changes or additions needed last year, and if your circumstances have remained stable.

The tax return app is not available if you:

- did not maintain the same tax partner throughout the year

- bought or sold your residence, leading to deductible expenses

- had an outstanding debt related to a previous owner-occupied property

- temporarily rented out your property, such as through Airbnb

- operated a business

- were part of an undivided inheritance

- earned income from secondary employment

- resided outside the country

- received income generated abroad

- held assets located overseas

- were a co-parent and your minor child was not registered at your address

- had any deductible expenses, including charitable donations, healthcare costs, or educational expenses

Search

You can search this site using keywords. You type in 1 or more keywords and click on 'Search'. If you type in 2 or more keywords, you will only see the results that contain all keywords.

Searching with operators: or, + and -

You can use so-called Boolean operators (or, +, -, or).

Capital letters or lower case letters

The search program is not case-sensitive. It therefore does not matter whether you enter keywords in capital letters or lower case letters.

German and English

Do you want to search the available German or English information? Then first go to the German or English version of the site.

Search results

The search program searches the entire site. You will therefore see results from the Tax and Customs Administration, Customs and Allowances.

Spelling suggestions

In certain cases, the search program provides spelling suggestions (recognizable by: 'Did you mean …'). By clicking on such a spelling suggestion, you adjust the search to the suggested spelling.

Synonyms and variations of keywords

The search engine not only searches for the keyword itself, but also for synonyms or words with a similar meaning. The search engine also searches for simple variations of keywords, such as plural forms and conjugations.

Reading the text

You can also listen to texts. To do this, click on the picture of the speaker or on the text 'read aloud'. The text on that page will then be read aloud automatically.

Reading aloud PDF documents

You can also listen to the text of PDF documents that you can download. In that case, click on the link with the text 'Read aloud: <document name>'. A PDF file will open. In the top left corner is a picture of a speaker. Click on this. A pop-up will appear and the text will be read aloud automatically.

Whether the reading aloud works depends on your browser and personal settings.

check whether:

your computer's speakers are turned on
