What is a connection?

A connection is a real home shopper you can contact, often through a live phone call. After a home buyer or seller makes an inquiry on a Zillow, Trulia or StreetEasy listing, we’ll verify the lead is actively looking to buy or sell. We’ll then call you to connect you directly. This introduction between the two parties is designed to help increase agents’ chances of winning a new client as well as meeting the market’s increasing expectations for on-demand service.

What’s the difference between connections and the leads I get from other companies?

A connection is a lead we have directly introduced you to by phone. Your connection is strengthened with an automatic My Agent relationship, so you’ll appear as the only buyer’s agent on all for-sale listings viewed by the connection.

A My Agent relationship is initially created for 30 days after you’re connected with a potential buyer, and can be extended through a variety of actions or follow-up communication with the client. This relationship gives you actionable information about the homes your connection views, saves and searches for on our sites, including a daily email summary of their activity for the past 24 hours and a real-time feed of data-driven insights about your most active clients. You’ll also appear as the only agent on any home-search email we send them from our sites for the duration of your relationship.
